about

I started writing this song years ago in a hotel room in Gatineau, QC.

lyrics

I climbed to the top of the mountain and then I jumped.
You were cookin' breakfast for the children and the dog.
As I was fallin' I heard you callin' my name.
You said "This time you better die, or I'll make you jump again."
I fell so slowly and landed on a bail of hay.
I guess I'll try again tomorrow as a gift for your birthday.

Oh, honey bee, I think you got me all wrong.
I won't be here for long.
I'm only half as strong as I used to be.

I woke up this morning on the corner of Gladstone and Kent.
I was mangled, I was twisted, I was broken, I was bent.
I may be a mangy mutt but I never once bit.
A bird can see there's a window, but always falls for it's tricks.

Oh, honey bee, I think we're coming undone.
I don't know what's wrong.
Once we were so strong, it was easy.

I don't know where I could go 'cause it breaks this old heart when we're apart, but at least this way I can bitch and complain, it helps to pass the time.

I gave it some thought and there's not much more I can say.
There's no sweeter taste than love, and there's solace in heartbreak.
